On Volvo FH and FM trucks with air suspension, the rear axle is held in place by a V-stay, also called a triangle rod or reaction rod. At the axle end of that V-stay sits the Volvo 1075255 bush.
This single rubber-to-metal component carries driving and braking torque, controls lateral axle movement and absorbs road vibration. When it wears, axle alignment, tyre life and driver safety all suffer.
For fleet operators, workshops and wholesalers, a reliable Volvo truck bushing with exact OE dimensions reduces downtime and repeat repairs. This guide explains what to look for.

The 1075255 is a heavy-duty rubber-metal bush. A steel outer housing with two Ø14 mm mounting holes (42 mm apart) bolts to the axle bracket. Inside, an elastomer body is vulcanised to a steel core that connects to the V-stay.
The stepped width (75 mm / 95 mm) and 138.8 mm outer diameter give the bush a large rubber volume. This allows controlled articulation while resisting high longitudinal loads.
• Natural rubber (NR) based compound: high elasticity, low heat build-up and excellent fatigue resistance under cyclic loads.
• Anti-ozone and anti-ageing additives protect against cracking from weather and road salt.
• Steel shell and core with anti-corrosion coating for long service in European and North American winters.
• Precise axle location keeps wheel alignment stable and reduces irregular tyre wear.
• Vibration isolation improves ride comfort and protects the chassis frame.
• Hot-vulcanised bond prevents rubber separation under braking and traction loads.
Volvo has superseded this part several times. 1075255 is interchangeable with Volvo 1591689, 20554908 and 3173759. See section 4 for the full aftermarket cross-reference.

• Clunking noise from the rear axle when accelerating, braking or crossing bumps.
• Truck pulling to one side or "crabbing" (rear axle steering) on straight roads.
• Uneven tyre wear on drive axle tyres, especially feathering or inner/outer shoulder wear.
• Visible cracks or rubber extruding from the metal housing.
• Excessive play at the V-stay joint when levered with a pry bar.
• Vibration felt through the cab at motorway speed.
• Wheel alignment that cannot be held after adjustment.

Dimensions refer to the OE-equivalent reference design. Compound and hardness can be adapted to customer drawings.

1. Park on level ground, chock the wheels and exhaust the air suspension; support the chassis on stands.
2. Mark the axle position before removal so alignment can be checked afterwards.
3. Use a hydraulic press and correct adapters; never hammer the bush or heat the rubber.
4. Clean the bore and check it for wear, ovality or cracks. A damaged housing will shorten new bush life.
5. Apply only a rubber-compatible assembly lubricant (soapy water or glycerine). Never use mineral oil or grease.
6. Tighten fasteners to Volvo specified torque with the vehicle at normal ride height, not with the suspension hanging.
7. Replace mounting bolts and nuts if corroded or stretched; they are single-use on many applications.
8. After fitting, perform a wheel alignment check and re-check torque after the first 1,000 km.
Q1: Is Volvo 1075255 the same as 1591689 and 20554908?
Yes. These are Volvo supersessions of the same V-stay bush. 3173759 is also interchangeable.
Q2: Can I replace only one bush?
It is possible, but we recommend replacing bushes in pairs or the whole V-stay set to keep axle location balanced.
Q3: How long does a V-stay bush last?
Service life depends on load, road conditions and mileage. Inspect it at every major service; many fleets replace them between 300,000 and 500,000 km.
Q4: Is your bush interchangeable with FEBI 02093 or DT 2.62003?
Yes. Our part matches the OE dimensions and fits where FEBI 02093, DT 2.62003 or SAMPA 030.037 are specified.
Q5: Can I get a different rubber hardness?
Yes. Our standard is Shore A 65 ± 5. We can adjust hardness and compound for heavy-haul or cold-climate applications.
Q6: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
MOQ is flexible for distributors. Samples are available, and this part can be combined with other Volvo, Scania, DAF, MAN and Mercedes-Benz parts in one shipment.
Q7: Do you offer private label packaging?
Yes. We supply neutral, Tongsource-branded or customer-branded packaging with barcode labels.
Q8: What quality documents can you provide?
We can provide material certificates, dimensional reports and bonding test results. Our parent company Huami is listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange (920247).
Q9: What are the delivery terms?
We quote FOB, CIF, DAP and other Incoterms on request. Lead time for regular orders is typically 30–45 days.
The Volvo 1075255 V-stay bush is a small part with a big influence on axle stability, tyre wear and driving safety. Choosing a bush with exact OE dimensions and a proven rubber-to-metal bond protects your customers and your reputation.
